Bump to Baby - Olivia

Bump to baby journey captured, second time around

We love a returning client, and it was so lovely to have Vicky & Will back with their second baby, Olivia!

We first met 2 years ago to capture bump to baby for Ted, and here he was about to become a big brother.

Their maternity session was slightly chaotic - we’d had to postpone for weather, and Vicky wasn’t sure how Ted would be. When the day came it was very busy with toddler energy, and the added excitement around my cat who was doing a terrible job of making herself scarce. Ted was typically not interested at all in cuddling or focusing on mum and bump etc - and just wanted to be chasing the cat around.

Despite the distractions we did get some gorgeous shots, and it was a good primer for the newborn session - we all knew what to expect, including Ted. I think it’s invaluable having that time with a toddler before the main session, to give us a chance to familiarise ourselves with each other. I’m really glad we got to do that because I had lots to catch up with him about, and we could get chatting - I also made sure the cat’s claws had been clipped so there was no real danger of him getting a scratch if she decided she’d had enough playing.

He was great though and we had a really lovely session for Olivia.

Two is really little, and of course you never know what to expect, other than the unexpected, but Ted is so adorable. It was St Pirans Day and they’d picked up a sausage roll to have for lunch on the way home, so that was a big topic of conversation as well as a promised trip to Trago Mills. So cute.

She was exactly 1 week old, and absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing how head over heels in love with her both parents were, and little Ted was great with her, not seeming too fussed about her arrival.

Of course, the coveted sibling shots were the challenge but when I lay them down together this incredible calm came over Ted, and he could have laid there for ages I think - the only problem was his little sister who didn’t want to be there but he we got a few shots anyway - too cute.
