Family photoshoot on the beach in Cornwall | Porthcurnick

Family of 3, & me

Alex booked this family photoshoot on the beach in Cornwall for his wife’s birthday present back in January. They’d had a family photoshoot a few years earlier with me, and it was time for some updated photos before little Sophie starts school in September.

The family live in Devon, so with much optimism they booked a last minute trip to Cornwall and managed to get a couple of nights at The Rosevine over the early May bank holiday weekend.

The weather forecast was a little unsettled and we did opt to bring the photoshoot forward from Monday morning to Sunday evening. Nicola was so worried about how Sophie would handle it being the end of the day, being a typically volatile 4 year old. They had done some exploring but managed to keep away from the beach until meeting me.

The weather turned out beautiful, and although the tide was right up we did have the beach to ourselves for the most part, which was amazing!

Sophie was a lot of fun I thought - happily chasing waves and making up games for us all to play. Some involved girls only, and I found myself hand in hand with her & her mum, running up and down the beach.

When it was time to go, her tiredness was apparent and I loved catching a few worn out cuddles with mum before we headed back up the hill to bed.

They loved the photos and I have some great new memories of this lovely family! Looking forward to seeing them again when it’s next time to update the family photos.

Michelle did an incredible job capturing our lively four year old in all her cheeky craziness, you can really see her personality shining through the photos as well as capturing some gorgeous family moments that look really natural and close. We will treasure the photos!
